Equipment

  • Bamboo whisk (chasen) or a milk frother → for frothy matcha.
  • Espresso machine for the perfect shot.

Ingredients
  

  • Matcha powder ceremonial grade if you can (smooth, less bitter).
  • Coffee espresso shot, strong brewed coffee, or even instant.
  • Milk of choice whole, oat, almond, soy… whatever makes you happy.
  • Sweetener (optional) honey, maple syrup, sugar, or skip it.

Instructions
 

  • Hot Version
    1- Whisk 1 tsp matcha with 2 oz hot water until smooth and frothy.
    2- Brew 1 shot espresso (or strong coffee).
    3- Steam/froth ½ cup milk of your choice.
    4- In a mug: pour matcha → coffee → milk.
    5- Sweeten if you like.
  • Iced Version
    1- Whisk matcha with hot water until fully dissolved.
    2- Fill a tall glass with ice.
    3- Add milk first, then coffee, then matcha on top.
    4- Sweeten and stir (or leave layered for that Insta-worthy ombré).
